In 1998 enthusiasm for the wine and the country has motivated Isabel del Olmo – a spanish business woman – and Peter Hilgard – a well known German wine journalist and book author – to found Bodegas Los Barrancos. Toni Alcover, a catalan professor of enology and wine maker (“Fra Fulco” from the Priorat) is a consultant. Their young enologist César Ortega, who was educated in Granada and Madrid, supervises the daily work in the vineyards and the cellar.
